Configuring the Dynamic Content Block Body
The following options are available for adding content to your dynamic content block:
- Type the text or HTML code of your dynamic content block.
- Copy and paste text or HTML from a previously prepared creative.
- Upload the content from a previously prepared creative.
If you copy and paste content from another dynamic content block in Actito, untrack all links before copying the content from the original dynamic content block.
Uploading Content
To upload the content of your dynamic content block from a previously prepared creative:
- Click Content Upload.
- In the Content Upload window, enter the URL of the creative or browse to the location of the creative and click Upload.
If you use a creative hosted on your CMS, uploading it will copy the HTML code into the dynamic content block body. Any edits made to the CMS-hosted version will not impact the copied version. If you want to link your dynamic content block to your CMS-hosted dynamic content block, use the External Content option.
Adding Images
To add images to your dynamic content block, you first need to upload your images to the Actito FTP server and then insert the links in the dynamic content block.
You need to have the address of the FTP server. If you do not already have this information, please contact your Account Manager.
To upload your images to the FTP server:
- Connect to the FTP server using an FTP client.
- Enter your Actito login and password when prompted.
- If this is your first connection, create a new folder and name it Images.
- Open the Images folder.
- Copy your images into the Images folder.
To find your image links:
- Copy the address of the Images folder (e.g., ftp://webe.emv3.com/images/) and paste it into Notepad or another text editor.
- Replace the ftp part of the address to http.
- If you created subfolders in the Images folder, add the subfolder names to the end of the address (e.g., http://webe.emv3.com/images/subfolder1/subfolder 2/).
- Copy the image file name and add it to the end of the address (e.g., http://webe.emv3.com/images/subfolder1/my-image.png). You now have your image link.
- Use this image link to reference the image in your creative.
To test that the image link works, paste it into your browser. If the image is displayed, the link is correct.
