Header Section

The Header section of the transactional message template creation screen allows you to define the header and transactional message send settings.

Naming the Transactional Message Template

  1. Enter a name for your transactional message template in the Message Name field.
  2. Enter a description for your transactional message template in the Description field.
info

To be able to easily identify your transactional message template, it is recommended to give each transactional message template a unique name and description. Multiple transactional message templates can have the same name as the ID number is the unique identifier.

Configuring the Transactional Message Header Information

The fields in the following steps can be configured using the following options:

  • Enter the information in the provided field.
  • Add field personalization by clicking the "+ Add" button on the right to add a personalization parameter that will be injected with the personalized value when the transactional message is generated. If you provide more than one personalization parameter, make sure to add a space between each one unless you want the field data to be combined into one word.
  • Add personalization manually (see Personalizing the Transactional Message).
  • Combine the above options by entering the information and adding personalization.
info

The From Email field is automatically configured to display the sender email address defined for your account. This entry can be changed in the Settings section.

  1. In the From display name field, enter the information you would like to have displayed next to the sender email address in the transactional message's From field.
Example

You are managing campaigns for multiple brands. You have configured your member database to store the brand information in the appropriate fields of the database. So that your campaign is sent from the right brand, you configure the From field to display the BRAND field value. Your campaign should then be combined with a brand-specific campaign so as to only email the members who have subscribed to receive emails from that particular brand.

  1. In the To field, enter the information you would like to have displayed in the message's To field.
  2. In the Subject field, enter the information you would like to have displayed in the message's Subject field.
  3. In the Reply-To Email field, enter the email address which should serve as the message's reply-to address.
  4. In the Reply-To display name field, enter the information you would like to have displayed next to the reply-to email address.
  5. If you have custom headers set up for your account, you can configure the custom header in the Custom Headers field.
  6. Select the encoding that should be applied to the message in the Encoding drop-down menu.
